Finding a Major Advisor Most graduate students in the Department of Entomology are supported by research assistantships awarded by their major advisor. We encourage you to look through the information on each faculty member’s research program, and to contact directly faculty with programs that are a good fit for your professional goals and interests. Since almost half of our faculty are stationed at Research and Extension Centers across the state of Texas, it is also possible to design programs in which the student committee is co-chaired by off-campus and on-campus chairs. This common model is well suited to research programs in many areas including biological control, integrated pest management, veterinary entomology, and insect ecology.
