The goal of the Neuropterists' Directory project is to compile an accurate and up-to-date listing of "directory information" about individuals and companies interested in neuropterid insects (orders Neuroptera, Megaloptera and Raphidioptera). To facilitate maintenance and distribution, the directory will be compiled and maintained as one or more web "pages" posted to one or more servers that are publicly accessible over the World Wide Web. The directory is a joint project of John D. Oswald and Peter McEwen. John D. Oswald is principally responsible for the solicitation and maintenance of data on individual neuropterists. Peter McEwen is principally responsible for the solicitation and maintenance of data on commercial entities offering neuropterid-related products and services, and personnel associated with these entities.
The information contained in the directory is the most recent information known to us as of the "Last Modified" dates of the individual pages. We cannot, and do not, guarantee that this information is either 100% accurate or current. Under "Last Update:" we give the last date on which any part of the information for that entry was added or changed. This is an approximate indication of the currency of individual directory entries. If you use and find this directory helpful, please help us maintain it by periodically checking to see that your information is current and by contributing any information about communications numbers and addresses known to you that are lacking in the directory. For information on how to communicate this information to us see Add/Update.
A sample directory entry for an individual is shown below, with field content and format comments added in parentheses {}.

Consistent with the goal of the Neuropterists' Directory, the directory editor will seek/solicit directory information about/from individuals with demonstrated interests in (e.g., newsletter subscribers, journal article authors) or relevance to (e.g., collection curators and staff, commercial contacts) the field of Neuropterology. Directory information will be obtained and maintained as one or more digital files on one or more publicly accessible computer servers. In the spirit of collegiality and the free exchange of information about neuropterid insects, the directory editor assumes that individuals would wish to share the kinds of information that have been selected for inclusion in the Directory. Some individuals, however, may not wish to make some or all of this information public. We will happily comply with specific requests to restrict access to some or all directory information by withdrawing it from the Directory. Please direct requests to delete or modify information in the Neuropterists' Directory: Individuals to John D. Oswald (j-oswald@tamu.edu), and requests to delete or modify information in the Neuropterists' Directory: Companies to Peter McEwen (mcewen@cardiff.ac.uk). The position that any restricted or withdrawn information would have occupied in an individual's directory entry will be marked with the statement "(not public)" to ensure that this information will not be inadvertently added again at a later date.

The information contained in the Neuropterists' Directory is maintained by the Directory Editor (currently John D. Oswald). The Editor maintains the directory as a shared communications resource for the benefit of the world's neuropterists. All changes to the directory are made by the Editor, who is responsible for maintaining the internal consistency of directory entries (e.g., content, format, style). New directory information is submitted to the Editor for incorporation into the directory. Directory information may be submitted on paper or electronically (e-mail [preferred] or disk). Instructions for e-mailing information to the Editor are given below. The Editor gratefully receives information regarding errors in existing directory entries and welcomes the submission of new data from colleagues who possess directory information on neuropterists not currently in the directory. New information appears in the directory at the next new posting of the directory following the receipt of the information by the Editor.
