Where should we stay?

Try:
Accomodations in College Station
LaQuinta Inns, 607 Texas Avenue, Phone 979.696.7777
Residence Halls on campus (probably booked for the summer)

Where do we park?

Most of the training will be at the Rangeland Ecology and Management Field Laboratory which has ample parking with no additional fees. To get to the field lab start at the corner of George Bush Drive and FM2818 which is sometimes called Harvey Mitchell Parkway (old timers simply call this the west bypass). Stay on George Bush Drive going west past FM2818 which heads to the old airport entrance. Turn left at the sign for the Field Lab, go past the wind tunnel on the right. Keep going (watch your speed) past the Brayton Fire Training Field and swing around the backside of one of the airport runways. Turn left at the "No Outlet" sign. When you see the Nuclear Science Center turn left again at the sign staying on pavement and continue straight about 1/4 mile. The Field Lab is the building on the right. Do not cross through a gate. We will meet there at the start of the session and most other days.

There will be some visits to the main campus and we will car pool or provide rides for those sessions. If you are visiting the Heep Center there are a few 30 minute slots in front. There is no parking garage nearby. The closest parking is between the Heep Center and the Veterinary Clinic near the Medical School. This lot was a pay lot and parking was $10 per day in the lot the last time we checked.

See TAMU Transportation Services for other alternatives.
