Scientific name: Xyloryctes jamaicensis (Drury)
Facts: Rhinoceros beetles are one of our largest scarab beetles.
The huge larvae feed on decaying organic matter and can be found in compost heaps or old dead logs.
The horns on the pronotum are the reason for the name.
