The Texas AgriLife Extension Service offers practical, how-to education based on university research. Extension programs are available to any resident of Texas and cover a variety of subjects, such 4-H and youth, family and consumer sciences, community development and agriculture and natural resources -- subjects that affect our everyday lives. You may read about a program in the newspaper, hear it on the radio, attend an Extension workshop, order a publication, or talk to your county Extension office.
Extension serves every county in Texas, from the biggest to the smallest, with 250 offices and 1,400 personnel. The people in each county decide what Extension should do for them and guide the planning and delivery of the programs.
In Extension Entomology, we bring you the most current information about insects and related areas such as environmental protection and conservation, integrated pest management (IPM), food and fiber production, urban landscapes and structures, home gardening, agriculture, public health, and much more. Our information is backed by science and research at Texas A&M and other universities and is made practical and relevant by Extension Entomologists, educators or agents who work in each county, right where you live.
